RAWALPINDI (MNN); Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has formally submitted a list of six individuals to jail authorities for a scheduled meeting with the party’s founder and Bushra Bibi at Adiala Jail on Tuesday.
According to sources, the list was forwarded by PTI coordinator Salman Akram Raja and includes Chairman PTI Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Salman Akram Raja, and Ali Zaman. Other names on the list are Fatahullah Barqi, Malik Muhammad Ahsan Qadir, and Maria Khan Baloch.
Sources further indicated that the sisters of the PTI founder are also expected to visit Adiala Jail on the same day. In addition, members of Bushra Bibi’s family are likely to arrive at the prison to hold separate meetings.
The development comes amid continued legal proceedings and restrictions surrounding meetings with the incarcerated PTI leadership, with authorities regulating visits under strict protocols.
Imran Khan, the founder of PTI and former prime minister of Pakistan, has been incarcerated at Adiala Jail for an extended period following multiple legal cases filed against him after his removal from office in 2022.
Since then, access to him has remained a politically sensitive issue, with party leaders frequently raising concerns over restrictions on meetings and legal consultations. Bushra Bibi, who also faces legal challenges, has been held in custody, further intensifying political tensions.
PTI leadership has consistently sought permission for regular meetings, arguing that such interactions are essential for legal coordination and internal party matters.
Authorities, however, maintain that all visits are conducted strictly in accordance with jail rules and security considerations, given the high-profile nature of the cases and the prevailing political situation in the country.
