RAWALPINDI (MNN); Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Thursday held a meeting with Chairman of the Jordanian Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Ahmed Al Huneiti, during which both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral military cooperation.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting was held at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, where issues of mutual interest and the prevailing regional security environment were discussed.
The ISPR said Field Marshal Asim Munir reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to further enhance defence relations with Jordan and highlighted the need for close collaboration to effectively respond to emerging security challenges.
The visiting Jordanian military chief praised the professionalism of the Pakistan armed forces and appreciated their role in promoting regional peace and stability.
The statement added that both military leaders agreed to further expand defence and military cooperation between the two brotherly countries.
Earlier, on November 16, Field Marshal Munir had also reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to boosting military-to-military ties with Jordan and jointly pursuing a shared vision of a peaceful and stable region.
During a previous visit by Jordan’s King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein, the army chief had underlined the strong defence partnership between Pakistan and the Hashemite Kingdom. On October 23, King Abdullah II commended the Pakistan military’s contributions to regional peace and security during a meeting with Field Marshal Munir in Jordan.
During that visit, Field Marshal Munir also met Maj Gen Al Huneiti at the General Headquarters in Amman, where he was received with a guard of honour.
