Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Islamabad Marks the Birth Anniversary of Pakistan’s National Poet Allama Muhammad Iqbal

ISLAMABAD; The Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Islamabad hosted a special event titled “Muhammad Iqbal: The Great Poet of the East” to commemorate the birth anniversary of Pakistan’s national poet, Allama Muhammad Iqbal.

Prior to the event, the inauguration of the photo exhibition “Common Heroes”, organized by the Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Centre, was held.

The exhibition was inaugurated by H.E. Dr. Irfan Neziroğlu, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Pakistan; Mr. Khursid Ahmad Nadeem, Chairman of the Rahmatul-lil-Alamin Authority; Mr. Zulfiqar Cheema, Chairman of the Iqbal Council; and Prof. Dr. Halil Toker, Türkiye Coordinator of Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Centres in Pakistan.

Following the exhibition opening, a meeting was held at the Embassy. In his address, Ambassador Dr. Irfan Neziroğlu highlighted the deep-rooted friendship between Türkiye and Pakistan and underlined the significance of Allama Iqbal as a thinker and poet whose ideas continue to inspire the Muslim world.

Mr. Khursid Ahmad Nadeem, in his remarks, emphasized Allama Iqbal’s profound love for Türkiye and his intellectual engagement with the concept of ijtihad and the establishment of the Republic of Türkiye.
Mr. Zulfiqar Cheema also paid tribute to Iqbal’s efforts for the spiritual revival of the entire Muslim Ummah.

The event served as a reflection of the enduring cultural and intellectual ties between Türkiye and Pakistan, two nations bound by shared history, values, and vision.
