Web Desk; A new wave of snowfall and rain has swept through northern Pakistan, intensifying the cold and hampering travel in Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
Heavy snow blanketed the mountain ranges of Gilgit-Baltistan, including Babusar, Nanga Parbat, and Batogah, where several vehicles were stranded, prompting rescue teams to act.
In KP, snowfall hit Swat, Dir, and Kalam, while rain and hail in Upper Hazara plunged temperatures further. Tourist spots like Ayubia, Nathiagali, and Changlagali received up to three inches of snow, attracting visitors despite risky conditions.
Rain and snowfall were also reported in Muzaffarabad and Neelum Valley, worsening the cold. Authorities have urged people to avoid unnecessary travel. The PDMA has forecast more rain and snow in the coming hours and directed local administrations to stay alert to prevent accidents.
