ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi has issued more than 2,100 visas to Sikh pilgrims from India to take part in the celebrations marking the birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
According to a statement from the High Commission, the visas were issued under the Pakistan-India Protocol on Visits to Religious Shrines, an agreement facilitating pilgrims’ visits to sacred sites across both countries.
The celebrations will take place in Pakistan from November 4 to 13, where thousands of devotees from around the world are expected to visit key religious sites, including Nankana Sahib and Kartarpur Sahib.
Chargé d’Affaires Saad Warraich extended his warm wishes to the visiting Sikh yatrees, expressing hope that their participation would promote peace, interfaith harmony, and friendly ties between Pakistan and India.
He said that Pakistan values the spiritual connection of the Sikh community with its sacred sites and continues to facilitate their religious journeys.
