RIYADH; Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Saudi Arabia on Monday to represent Pakistan at the Ninth Future Investment Initiative (FII9) conference being held in Riyadh.
The visit comes at the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, with the Pakistani premier leading a high-level delegation that includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and senior aides Tariq Fatemi and Bilal Bin Saqib, according to the Prime Minister’s Office.
Upon arrival at King Khalid International Airport, the prime minister was received by Riyadh Deputy Governor Muhammad bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmad Farooq.
The FII9 summit, themed “The Key to Prosperity: Unlocking New Frontiers of Growth,” gathers world leaders, investors, and innovators to discuss innovation, sustainability, economic inclusion, and geopolitical developments.
According to the Foreign Office, PM Shehbaz will hold meetings with Saudi leadership to enhance cooperation in trade, investment, energy, and manpower development. Discussions will also address regional and global issues of mutual concern.
On the sidelines of the event, the prime minister is expected to meet leaders from participating nations and heads of international organizations, showcasing Pakistan’s investment potential and commitment to sustainable development in line with the “Think, Exchange, and Act” model.
