Web Desk; Pakistani television icon Saba Qamar has once again captivated audiences with her exceptional and emotionally charged performance in Geo Entertainment’s drama Case No. 9, where she portrays a rape survivor seeking justice against societal odds. Airing every Wednesday and Thursday, the series has become one of the most talked-about shows on Pakistani television.
Veteran actress Atiqa Odho praised Saba’s nuanced performance, describing it as “effortless yet deeply moving.” Responding to Odho’s comments, Saba shared on Instagram the immense emotional and physical challenges that come with such an intense role. “Emotional scenes take a real toll on the mind and body,” she wrote. “Living those emotions repeatedly affects you — I’ve faced health issues because of it.”
Despite the strain, Saba emphasized her dedication to her craft, saying, “I’m learning to take better care of myself, to breathe through it, and remind myself that I’m strong. It’s tough, but this is what I love, and that’s where my strength comes from.”
The drama, written by journalist Shahzeb Khanzada and directed by Syed Wajahat Hussain, highlights the grim reality of sexual violence, courtroom struggles, and societal pressures captured in the haunting phrase “Log kya kahenge?” (What will people say?).
Produced by Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi under 7th Sky Entertainment, Case No. 9 stars Faisal Qureshi, Aamina Sheikh, Junaid Khan, and Rushna Khan alongside Saba Qamar. Her portrayal of Sehar — a determined young woman who stands against injustice — is being hailed as one of the most powerful performances of her career.
Beyond its storyline, Saba’s candid revelations have sparked an important conversation about the psychological burden actors endure when portraying trauma-driven roles, earning her admiration for both her talent and honesty.
