ISLAMABAD; The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has arrested the main suspect involved in an international network engaged in the production and distribution of child abuse material, officials confirmed on Wednesday.
According to an NCCIA spokesperson, a major operation was carried out in Islamabad after tracking down the suspect, identified as Asim Mohammad Qasim.
The accused was allegedly disseminating illegal and exploitative content through WhatsApp, Telegram, and various other social media platforms.
The operation, codenamed “Roads” and “Iceberg,” was conducted in coordination with the Australian Federal Police and supported by Interpol and other global law enforcement agencies.
Reports from these bodies helped uncover the involvement of online groups named “Rainbow” and “MyLuvDollyCon” in the illicit network.
During the raid, investigators recovered mobile data and multiple social media accounts containing explicit videos and images of minors. Initial findings indicate that the suspect was not only distributing but also producing such material.
Evidence further suggests links with international users operating under aliases such as “Sassy” and “Twinkle.”
The suspect, a resident of Ichhra, Lahore, has been charged under Pakistan’s cybercrime and child protection laws. Authorities are now working to trace other individuals connected to the network and to identify victims of the exploitation.
The investigation, supervised by Inspector Iqram Muqaddas, remains ongoing, with officials confirming that more arrests are expected as inquiries continue.
