ISLAMABAD; A decisive call on whether Mohammad Rizwan will remain Pakistan’s One-Day International (ODI) captain is expected on October 20, as Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has summoned a high-level meeting to discuss the matter, following a recommendation by head coach Mike Hesson.
According to sources, Hesson has sent a formal letter to the PCB chairman, urging him to take a final decision regarding the ODI leadership.
Shaheen Shah Afridi has emerged as the front-runner for the role, while Babar Azam and Agha Salman are also under serious consideration, the sources added.
The meeting will also involve the selection and advisory committees, where final decisions regarding white-ball squads for the upcoming South Africa series are expected to be made.
