ISLAMABAD; Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday assured Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari that the government would address his party’s concerns, stressing the importance of unity and coordination among coalition partners to maintain political stability.

The assurance was given during a meeting between the two leaders at the Prime Minister House, which lasted for more than an hour. The discussion focused on the overall political and security situation in the country as well as matters concerning coalition cooperation.

According to sources, both parties agreed to continue working together within the coalition framework and avoid issuing public statements against each other.

The PPP delegation expressed reservations regarding the Punjab government’s policies, the recently passed local government legislation, and the lack of consultation from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on key issues.

Earlier in the day, the PPP delegation also met Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to raise similar concerns, particularly about the stalled progress on the Punjab power-sharing formula. Dar assured them that the matter would be presented to the party leadership for resolution.

The PPP delegation included Nayar Bukhari, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Nadeem Afzal Chan, and Sherry Rehman. The PML-N side was represented by Ishaq Dar, Rana Sanaullah, Malik Ahmad Khan, and Ahad Cheema.
