Sports Desk; The General Council meeting of the Pakistan Kabaddi Federation elected new office-bearers for the next four years. Federal Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain was elected unopposed as the new President, while Chaudhry Shafay Hussain was chosen as Chairman and Rana Sarwar as Secretary General.
The meeting was held at a local hotel in Lahore, attended by representatives from affiliated units of the Pakistan Kabaddi Federation, the International Kabaddi Federation, Pakistan Olympic Association (POA), and Pakistan Sports Board.
During the session, Chaudhry Salik Hussain’s name was unanimously approved as President for the upcoming four-year term. Chaudhry Shafay Hussain was elected Chairman, Rana Sarwar as Secretary, and Sohail Ahmed Khan as Treasurer. Colonel Nabeel Ahmed, Lt Commander Kaleemullah, and Rai Asghar were chosen as Vice Presidents, while Akhtar Abbas was elected as Associate Secretary and Rana Amjad Iqbal as Joint Secretary.
The participants also announced preparations for the upcoming Kabaddi World Cup scheduled to be held next year in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Chairman Chaudhry Shafay Hussain said that invitations had been extended to the teams of Turkiye and China to participate in the Prime Minister Kabaddi Cup to be held in Islamabad. He added that the federation is committed to promoting Kabaddi in Pakistan with the same spirit and planning as cricket.
