ISLAMABAD: The federal capital’s skyline turned radiant on Tuesday night as major government landmarks, including the Pakistan Monument, Aiwan-e-Sadr (President House), Parliament House, Prime Minister House, Supreme Court, High Court, federal secretariat, and key offices along Constitution Avenue and Blue Area, were illuminated in red to mark China’s National Day (October 1st).

The spectacular lighting display symbolised the deep-rooted friendship between Pakistan and China, widely referred to as an “iron brotherhood.”

Thousands of citizens gathered along Constitution Avenue to witness the glowing landmarks, taking photographs of the illuminated buildings. Officials said the gesture was aimed at demonstrating Pakistan’s solidarity with its “time-tested friend” on the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

Diplomatic circles in Islamabad noted that such celebrations highlight the close ties between the two nations, particularly under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) framework, which remains a cornerstone of bilateral cooperation.
