ISLAMABAD; Citizens of the federal capital will soon enjoy free public Wi-Fi at 30 designated locations, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi informed the National Assembly during the Question Hour session.
According to the minister’s written reply, the project is being implemented through collaboration between the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC).
The trial period for this facility will continue until the end of December 2025, after which a review will be conducted.
Key locations selected include:
- Metro Bus Stations: From Pak Secretariat to IJP Road (14 stations) and from Faiz Ahmed Faiz Station to GT Road Stop No. 26 (70 stations).
- Public Spaces: CDA Hospital, Japanese Park, Lake View Park, Daman-e-Koh, Fatima Jinnah Park.
- Markets & Bazaars: Sunday Bazaars G-6 and H-9, as well as F-6 and F-7 Markaz.
The government hopes this initiative will enhance digital accessibility for the public and facilitate better connectivity across Islamabad.
