RAWALPINDI – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder, chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan, in his message from Adiala Jail, has underlined the strategic and religious significance of the recently concluded Pakistan–Saudi Arabia agreement.

He described the pact as a landmark development in bilateral relations and a reflection of the long-standing trust between the two countries.

Imran Khan said that Saudi Arabia has always held a central place in Pakistan’s foreign policy, not only because of shared faith and culture but also due to the Kingdom’s role as the custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.

He maintained that protecting the sanctity and security of Haramain Sharifain is not only a matter of honour but also a sacred duty for every Pakistani, and that this understanding has further strengthened the basis of the new agreement.

The former premier stressed that Pakistan needs to adopt a proactive approach in international relations, ensuring that its diplomatic outreach remains strong and consistent. “In a rapidly changing global environment, Pakistan cannot afford isolation. We must enhance our connections with allies and expand our partnerships in order to safeguard our national interests,” he noted.

Imran Khan further highlighted that the agreement with Saudi Arabia would open new avenues of regional stability, economic collaboration, and security cooperation. He pointed out that Saudi Arabia has historically stood by Pakistan in times of need, and closer cooperation in defence, trade, and investment will bring benefits to the people of both countries.

Touching on broader foreign policy, the PTI founder said that Pakistan’s international image can only improve if the country follows an independent, transparent, and balanced policy. “Our relationship with Saudi Arabia should serve as a model for our ties with other Muslim nations and the global community at large,” he added.

Political analysts believe that Imran Khan’s message underscores his continued focus on Pakistan’s foreign policy despite being incarcerated, and reflects his intention to highlight Pakistan’s role in the Muslim world. Observers also point out that the reference to Haramain Sharifain may strengthen his appeal among the public at a time when PTI has been calling for national mobilisation.
