During the hearing, Barrister Suleman Safdar, counsel for Imran Khan, urged the court to form a larger bench to hear the matter. Justice Azam Khan observed that a decision on constituting a larger bench would be taken once the case details are received.

Imran Khan’s sisters were also present in court during the proceedings. Safdar argued that the petition was originally filed two years ago when NAB, FIA, and other institutions were issuing repeated notices to the PTI founder. He alleged that state institutions were being used against Khan and his party, terming it political vendetta in violation of the Constitution.

He further pointed out that despite the lapse of two years, no progress had been made. He claimed that 127 cases had so far been registered against Imran Khan, and the court must seek accurate details from the respondents to verify the total number. He reiterated his request for the constitution of a larger bench, citing past examples where such benches were formed in political vendetta cases. Referring to the cipher case, he said the FIA registered the case, Khan was sentenced, but the IHC later overturned that verdict.

Special Prosecutor NAB Abdul Rafay requested more time to provide the updated record of cases. He opposed the plea for a larger bench, arguing that the petition lacked sufficient grounds for such a move.

Justice Azam Khan remarked that the decision regarding a larger bench would only be taken after receiving the relevant case details. The court then sought a complete record from NAB, FIA, and police before adjourning the hearing indefinitely.
