Web Desk; In a major show of solidarity with Punjab’s flood victims, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh have stepped forward with significant relief initiatives, pledging both immediate aid and long-term rehabilitation.
Salman Khan, through his Being Human Foundation, has dispatched five rescue boats to flood-affected regions. According to reports, three of these boats are already in use for evacuations, distribution of food and essential supplies, while the other two were handed over at the Ferozepur border.
Beyond the emergency response, Salman has also pledged to adopt several villages near Husainiwala, aiming to support their recovery and rebuilding once the waters recede. “They have always stood by the country in times of need. Now it is our duty to stand with them,” Salman reportedly said in a statement on Punjab’s crisis.
Meanwhile, Diljit Dosanjh has announced the adoption of 10 flood-ravaged villages in Gurdaspur and Amritsar districts through his Saanjh Foundation. His team is coordinating with NGOs and local authorities to ensure delivery of food packets, clean drinking water, and medical care in the immediate term.
The foundation also plans to invest in repairing homes, restoring schools, and rebuilding basic infrastructure to help residents return to normal life. Diljit described the step as his way of giving back to Punjab, stressing that the younger generation must remain connected to their roots in times of hardship.
Punjab has been reeling under heavy floods in recent weeks, leaving thousands displaced and damaging crops, homes, and key infrastructure. The involvement of high-profile celebrities has not only provided much-needed resources but also boosted morale in affected communities. For many, the dual efforts of Salman and Diljit serve as a reminder that collective responsibility—whether from within or outside Punjab—is essential in rebuilding lives.
