ISLAMABAD; A state-of-the-art Jinnah Medical Complex is set to be built in Islamabad’s Sector H-16 at an estimated cost of Rs120 billion. Spread over 600 kanals, the facility will include a 1,000-bed tertiary care hospital, nine specialized Centers of Excellence, and modern research and teaching facilities. Designed to provide world-class healthcare, the project aims to serve as both a treatment hub and a medical education center.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while chairing a review meeting on the project, directed that the medical complex be fully digitized and integrated with artificial intelligence to meet international standards. He emphasized that the hospital should be connected digitally with other hospitals in Islamabad to ensure better patient coordination and data sharing.

During the meeting, the concept design of the complex—prepared free of cost by the Chinese company Hongkong-AOHUA was presented. The Prime Minister described this gesture as a living example of Pakistan-China friendship and people-to-people ties. He expressed gratitude to the company’s leadership and workforce, saying the gift would always be remembered by the government, the people of Pakistan, and future patients receiving treatment at the hospital.

Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the inclusion of a comprehensive emergency response plan in the design to deal with any future pandemics. He also instructed that environmental protection, water conservation, and efficient use of resources remain central to the project. The design incorporates solar energy, better utilization of natural light, water recycling, and measures to ensure greenery within the complex.

The Prime Minister further directed officials to ensure that all steps related to the hospital’s construction are completed within the stipulated timeframe. Once operational, the Jinnah Medical Complex will not only provide cutting-edge healthcare facilities but also stand as a symbol of Pakistan-China cooperation in health and development.
