ISLAMABAD; President Asif Ali Zardari has reaffirmed that Pakistan and Morocco share close fraternal relations grounded in common faith, shared values, and mutual respect, stressing the need to further strengthen these ties for the mutual benefit of both nations.
He made these remarks during a meeting with the Ambassador of Morocco, Mohamed Karmoune, who called on him at Aiwan-e-Sadr.
The President expressed Pakistan’s commitment to deepening cooperation with Morocco across multiple sectors, while also extending gratitude for Morocco’s support during the 2022 floods — a gesture he said reflected the depth of friendship between the two countries.
Highlighting the importance Pakistan places on its economic relationship with Morocco, President Zardari noted the significant potential for expanding trade and investment.
He observed that Africa is on the cusp of major economic growth in the coming years, and Morocco, with its impressive economic progress, is well-positioned to lead this transformation and contribute to regional prosperity.
Reiterating his warm sentiments for the Moroccan leadership, President Zardari conveyed his best wishes for the continued health of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and asked the Ambassador to extend the goodwill and warm regards of the people of Pakistan to the King and the Moroccan people.
