Gilgit-Baltistan: The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has successfully completed a vital rescue mission in Gilgit-Baltistan, where dozens of tourists and local residents were left stranded due to extreme weather conditions and disrupted road access. The region, known for its mountainous terrain and unpredictable climate, frequently experiences weather-induced isolation, posing serious risks to travelers and locals alike.
In response to the developing crisis, a specially planned rescue operation was launched on July 25. A PAF C-130 aircraft took off from Nur Khan Airbase at 7:55 AM, heading to Qadri to evacuate those affected. Upon arrival, the aircraft safely boarded and airlifted a total of 125 stranded individuals. This included 82 civilians, 25 Pakistan Army personnel, and 18 members of the Pakistan Air Force.
The return flight from Qadri Base took place at 8:52 AM, successfully bringing all evacuees back to Nur Khan Airbase. The timely execution and precision of the operation underscore the commitment of the Pakistan Air Force in swiftly responding to humanitarian emergencies.
The rescue effort also reflects the broader coordination between military institutions and local authorities, who remain steadfast in their dedication to public welfare, particularly during natural calamities and critical situations.
