The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday confirmed that a Pakistan Army major and a sepoy were martyred during an intelligence-based operation in the Mastung district of Balochistan.

According to the military’s media wing, the operation was launched on Wednesday following credible intelligence regarding the presence of militants affiliated with the Indian-backed group, Fitna al-Hindustan. Pakistani forces engaged the identified terrorist hideout, and during the exchange of fire, three terrorists were killed.

Leading the mission from the front, 31-year-old Major Zeeyyad Salim Awal, a resident of Khushab, fought courageously and laid down his life in the line of duty. Sepoy Nazam Hussain, 22, hailing from Jhelum, also embraced martyrdom while bravely supporting the operation.

ISPR stated that a follow-up sanitisation operation is currently underway to ensure that no remaining terrorists, backed by foreign elements, are present in the area.

The statement reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to eliminating the threat of foreign-sponsored terrorism from its soil, emphasizing that the sacrifices of valiant soldiers like Major Zeeyyad and Sepoy Nazam reinforce the nation’s resolve to defend peace and security at all costs.

Meanwhile, , President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have lauded the successful intelligence-based operation by security forces in Mastung, Balochistan, which resulted in the elimination of three Fitnat-al-Hindustan terrorists.

President Zardari paid tribute to the fallen heroes — Major Ziaad Saleem Awwal and Sepoy Nazim Hussain — who embraced martyrdom while bravely confronting the terrorists. “These brave sons of the soil laid down their lives for the defense of the motherland and set a new example of courage,” the President said. He expressed deep condolences to the families of the martyrs and prayed for the elevation of their ranks in the hereafter.

The President reaffirmed the nation’s commitment to continue counterterrorism operations until the complete eradication of India-sponsored terrorism. “The sacrifices of our security forces will not go in vain. The nation stands shoulder to shoulder with its armed forces in the fight against terrorism,” he emphasized.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also commended the security forces for their valiant action against the terrorists. He praised the courage and resolve demonstrated during the successful operation, particularly acknowledging the ultimate sacrifices of Major Ziaad Saleem Awwal and Sepoy Nazim Hussain.

“The martyrs stood like a wall against the terrorists without fearing for their lives,” the Prime Minister said, while offering condolences to their bereaved families and praying for the departed souls. He added that the sacrifices made by the Pakistan Army in the fight against terrorism are unparalleled.

The Prime Minister reiterated the government’s unwavering resolve to eliminate all forms of terrorism from the country. “The entire nation salutes our martyrs and remains committed to defeating terrorism in all its manifestations,” he concluded.
