NAPA to host three-day Urdu literary event ‘Shaam-e-Adab’ from July 25

Karachi: The National Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA) is set to host a three-day literary festival titled Shaam-e-Adab beginning July 25, showcasing the richness of Urdu literature through a series of dramatic and poetic performances. Directed by Qadeer Ahmed, the event will blend drama, satire, humor, and sorrow to bring modern-day literary themes to life on stage.

According to a spokesperson from NAPA, Shaam-e-Adab is designed as an immersive celebration of Urdu literature, featuring powerful dramatic renditions of selected works by some of the most acclaimed writers. The program includes Marhoom ki Yaad Mein by Pitras Bukhari, Khan Saif-ul-Malook by Mushtaq Ahmed Yousufi, and Yunesko ki Chhatri by Mujtaba Hussain.

The performances will be brought to life by a talented cast including Akhtar Abbas, Kainat Muhammad, Zubair Bloch, and Ameed Akbar. Each evening promises to offer a unique blend of poetic expression and dramatic storytelling, highlighting themes that resonate with contemporary audiences.

All sessions will take place at the Zia Mohyeddin Theater, located within the NAPA premises.
