Mastung: A tragic terrorist ambush on a Balochistan Constabulary (BC) convoy in the Mastung district on Friday resulted in the martyrdom of two security personnel and injuries to two others.

The attack claimed the lives of Acting Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Abdul Razzaq and Head Constable Raz Muhammad. Constables Taj Muhammad and Khursheed Ahmed were critically injured in the assault.

Law enforcement agencies and rescue teams swiftly responded to the incident, shifting the deceased and injured to Shaheed Nawab Ghaus Bakhsh Raisani Memorial Hospital for urgent medical treatment. Due to the severity of their injuries, the wounded personnel were later airlifted to Quetta by helicopter.

A spokesperson for the provincial government confirmed the details, stating that the ambush targeted a police convoy comprising two trucks and two pickups.

He described the attack as a desperate act by elements opposed to peace and stability in Balochistan. A comprehensive search operation has been launched in the area to locate and apprehend the assailants. A formal investigation is also underway.

Quetta: The funeral prayers for the martyred officers, Inspector Abdul Razzaq and Head Constable Raza Muhammad, were held at Police Lines in Quetta. The ceremony was attended by senior civil and military officials, including IG Police Balochistan Moazzam Jah Ansari, IG FC North Major General Abid Mazhar, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Hamza Shafqaat, and a large number of citizens.

Participants paid glowing tributes to the bravery and dedication of the fallen officers, vowing that their sacrifice would not be forgotten. The gathering reaffirmed their collective resolve to continue the fight against terrorism and uphold peace in the region.
