Islamabad: According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, most parts of the country are expected to experience hot and humid weather over the next 12 hours. However, rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms is likely in Kashmir, Northeastern Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, the Pothohar region, Islamabad, and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The department reported that the highest temperature recorded yesterday was 46°C in Dalbandin, followed by 41°C in Khairpur and Dadu.

During the past 24 hours, the heaviest rainfall was recorded in Rahim Yar Khan at 47 mm. In Multan, 28 mm was recorded at the airport and 27 mm in the city area.

Heavy rains in parts of the country—including Murree, Galiyat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad, and Lahore—have raised concerns of flash flooding in local streams, landslides in mountainous areas, and inundation in low-lying regions.

The Meteorological Department has advised citizens to avoid unnecessary travel and take precautionary measures to ensure safety during the ongoing weather conditions.
