Islamabad: The Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) took two major steps in Islamabad aimed at empowering young Pakistanis through skills development and sports. A Letter of Intent (LOI) was signed with Enablers to strengthen digital and entrepreneurial engagement under the 4Es framework—Education, Employment, Engagement, and Environment—while a high-level meeting was convened to advance preparations for the First National Youth Games, scheduled for September 2025.

The PMYP formalized a strategic partnership with Enablers at the Prime Minister’s Office to enhance youth opportunities nationwide. The collaboration will support skill-building programs, internships, job placements, and contribute to the Prime Minister’s Digital Youth Hub (DYH)—a centralized platform designed to digitally connect and empower youth across the country. Key initiatives under this partnership include the Young Entrepreneur Fest, which aims to spotlight youth-led business ideas and foster interaction with industry experts. Special emphasis will be placed on women’s empowerment through scholarships, mentorships, and leadership programs. Both parties agreed to a shared branding strategy and coordinated outreach to amplify the impact of youth-focused initiatives.

On the same day, momentum also built around youth sports development, as the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) hosted a second consultative meeting to assess progress on the upcoming First National Youth Games. Scheduled for September 2025, and held for the first time at this scale since 1948, the Games will feature over 15 sports disciplines for youth aged 14 to 17. The initiative is being led by PMYP in collaboration with the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) and the Ministry of IPC.

The meeting reviewed athlete selection processes, regional qualifiers, venue preparations, and inter-agency coordination. Attended by senior officials from federal and provincial bodies, and representatives from the POA, the gathering reaffirmed the importance of transparency, merit, and inclusivity. Stakeholders joined both in person and online, signaling strong national alignment behind the landmark event.

Chairman PMYP Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan emphasized leveraging sports to foster national unity and called for swift execution of plans to ensure the event’s success. Stakeholders echoed this sentiment, expressing confidence in the Games’ transformative potential.

Together, these initiatives underscore the government’s sustained commitment to youth empowerment through digital access, entrepreneurial engagement, and inclusive sports development—creating long-term avenues for Pakistani youth to excel.
