Bulgaria, Pakistan discuss closer cooperation in urban development and sustainability

Islamabad: The Bulgarian Ambassador to Pakistan, H.E. Irena Gancheva, held a meeting with Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, on Tuesday to discuss opportunities for enhancing bilateral cooperation. The discussions focused on urban development, environmental sustainability, and institutional collaboration.

The meeting, which took place at the CDA Headquarters, was held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere. Both parties expressed interest in strengthening ties between Bulgaria and Pakistan through mutual efforts in city planning, urban beautification, and sustainable development.

Ambassador Gancheva commended the CDA for its continued efforts to improve Islamabad’s infrastructure and promote eco-friendly initiatives under the leadership of Chairman Randhawa.

“I acknowledge the remarkable progress Islamabad has made in terms of urban beautification and sustainability,” she said. “Chairman Randhawa’s vision for a modern and environmentally conscious capital is truly commendable.”

Chairman Randhawa reaffirmed the CDA’s commitment to transforming Islamabad into a model city. He welcomed Bulgaria’s interest in building closer ties and highlighted the importance of international cooperation in achieving shared goals.

“We are dedicated to further developing Islamabad as a beautiful and sustainable city,” he stated, adding that Bulgaria’s willingness to collaborate is greatly appreciated.

The meeting concluded with both sides agreeing to explore joint projects and share technical expertise in urban planning and environmental management. Randhawa reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening diplomatic and institutional relations with Bulgaria, while Ambassador Gancheva assured continued support from her government in promoting mutual cooperation.
