Pakistan accuses India of state terrorism, threatening regional peace at UN Human Rights Council

Geneva: In a scathing address at the 59th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, Pakistani diplomat Daniyal Hasnain exposed India’s aggressive posture and its transformation into a “rogue and extremist state” in South Asia, posing a grave threat to regional peace.

Hasnain asserted that India, despite sharing a border with Pakistan, continues to commit blatant and serious human rights violations. He warned that India’s threats of border aggression and water blockade are dragging the region toward a potential nuclear conflict.

The Pakistani diplomat explicitly stated that India is actively supporting terrorism inside Pakistan, citing instances where Indian leadership has openly taken credit for such acts. He then shared the tragic story of Mr. Hidayatullah Jamote, a dedicated government officer recently martyred in Balochistan. Hasnain highlighted that Mr. Jamote, a civil servant who had rejected extremist propaganda and chosen to serve his country, had his life cut short by “terrorists supported and armed by India.”

Furthermore, Hasnain criticized India’s internal human rights record, stating that dissenting voices are being silenced through killings, and the homes of political opponents are being demolished. He accused India of institutionalizing hatred on political grounds and normalizing the mistreatment of minorities. In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), Hasnain asserted that India is violating international law by engineering demographic changes as part of a “sinister plan.”

Concluding his address, Daniyal Hasnain firmly stated that whether it is Indian-sponsored terrorism or cross-border aggression, Pakistan has always stood firm in the face of Indian hostility, emphasizing that Pakistan knows well how to safeguard its sovereignty.
