Islamabad: A landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at the Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) headquarters in Islamabad between OGDCL, the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP), and the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC). This strategic partnership aims to empower Pakistani youth through skills development, technical and vocational training, sports, environmental awareness, and employment opportunities.

The signing ceremony was attended by OGDCL Managing Director and CEO Ahmed Hayat Lak and his team, Chairman PMYP Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan and his delegation, and Chairperson NAVTTC Gulmina Bilal Ahmed along with her team.

The MoU is designed to promote targeted initiatives nationwide, including vocational and technical education, increased access to employment, innovative and sports programs, and environmental awareness campaigns under the Green Youth Movement (GYM).

Through the platforms of NAVTTC and PMYP, skill-based education and career development will be advanced, while employment opportunities will be provided via the Digital Youth Hub (DYH). In addition, young people will be engaged in e-sports, talent hunt sports programs, and volunteer activities.

Green initiatives on university campuses and other venues will help instill a sense of environmental responsibility among students. In the first phase, the project will include 1,000 young people aged 15 to 35 from across the country, ensuring inclusivity, regional diversity, and merit-based selection.

Leaders of all three organizations highlighted the significance of this collaboration. OGDCL MD and CEO Ahmed Hayat Lak stated that the company believes in investing in the country’s future and empowering youth is a vital part of this mission. PMYP Chairman Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan said the MoU represents an important step toward connecting youth with dignified opportunities. He emphasized the urgency of providing young people with the skills and platforms needed for personal and national development. NAVTTC Chairperson Gulmina Bilal Ahmed underlined the necessity of equipping youth, especially those from underprivileged areas, with vocational and technical skills to bridge the gap between talent and opportunity. The agreement marks the beginning of long-term collaboration among the three institutions to create a skilled, dynamic, and environmentally conscious generation ready to contribute positively to Pakistan’s sustainable progress and national unity.
