Islamabad Police have arrested two suspects involved in the brutal murder of economic and defence analyst Sardar Fahim. Inspector General Islamabad Police, alongside State Minister for Interior Talal Chaudhry, disclosed in a press conference that the accused were apprehended from Gujranwala and Sargodha.

According to the IG, the arrested men were habitual criminals who first conducted surveillance to identify homes with minimal occupancy. They broke into Sardar Fahim’s residence intending to rob it, and when he resisted, they fatally assaulted him with iron rods.

Calling it a “test case,” the IG said the police successfully traced and solved the murder within six days. Meanwhile, Minister Talal Chaudhry commended Islamabad Police for cracking multiple high-profile cases, including the Sana Yousuf murder and the sexual assault case involving a foreign national, leading to a notable decline in the crime rate in the capital.

It is worth mentioning that Sardar Fahim was found critically injured at his home and succumbed to his injuries en route to the hospital. He was affiliated with a government-linked think tank.
