LONDON; British police have arrested a man in connection with a ransomware attack on Collins Aerospace, a subsidiary of RTX, which disrupted airport check-in systems and triggered major travel delays across Europe.
The National Crime Agency (NCA) said the suspect, a man in his 40s, was detained on suspicion of offences under the Computer Misuse Act and later released on conditional bail.
“This arrest is a positive step, but the investigation is still in its early stages,” said NCA Deputy Director Paul Foster.
It remains unclear which group carried out the hack, as no ransomware gang has yet claimed responsibility on dark web leak sites.
The incident is the latest in a series of cyberattacks in Europe. Jaguar Land Rover has extended factory closures until October 1 after a separate hack, while Berlin Airport warned it may take several more days to restore secure systems.
