ISLAMABAD; The Government of Japan has announced the recipients of the Japanese Foreign Minister’s Commendations 2025, with Ms. Neveen Syed, Chairperson of the Lahore Floritage Sogetsu Study Group, among the honorees. She has been recognized for her outstanding contributions to strengthening cultural ties between Japan and Pakistan.
The Lahore Floritage Sogetsu Study Group is a cultural organization dedicated to the Japanese art of flower arrangement, Ikebana. Under Ms. Syed’s leadership, the group has organized classes and exhibitions across Pakistan, introducing and promoting Japanese cultural traditions to local audiences.
Congratulating Ms. Syed on this prestigious achievement, the Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Akamatsu Shuichi, praised her tireless dedication and service. He noted that the award reflects her invaluable role in deepening people-to-people exchanges and enhancing mutual understanding between the two nations. The Ambassador also expressed hope that Ms. Syed will continue to promote Ikebana in Pakistan and serve as a bridge of friendship and goodwill between Japan and Pakistan.
The formal conferment ceremony will be held at a later date, where Ambassador Akamatsu will present the commendation to Ms. Syed on behalf of Japan’s Foreign Minister.
