ISLAMABAD; Sher Shah, another son of Aleema Khan, the sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, has allegedly been picked up by unidentified men, PTI leaders claimed on Friday. This comes less than 24 hours after her elder son, Shahrez Khan, was taken from the family’s Lahore residence and later confirmed by police to be under arrest in connection with the May 9 riots.
Punjab DIG Investigation Syed Zeeshan Raza said Shahrez was wanted in the May 9 protest cases and would be produced before court on Friday. “Those defying the state cannot be given any concession and must face the law,” he told Geo News.
Aleema Khan had earlier alleged that masked, armed men stormed her house, broke doors, harassed staff, and forcibly took Shahrez from his bedroom while his wife and father were present. She said the raid left the family deeply traumatised.
PTI condemned the incidents as “state terror” and “political victimisation,” accusing the government — and specifically Maryam Nawaz — of targeting Imran Khan’s relatives after failing to “break” him. PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja said plainclothes men attacked Aleema’s residence, beat household staff, and abducted her son.
The party also recalled that just a day earlier, Shahrez and his wife had been stopped at Lahore Airport while attempting to leave the country. PTI stressed that Shahrez has no political role and was only victimised because of his family ties.
Meanwhile, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah said Lahore police had denied arresting Shahrez at the time of the alleged abduction. He added that regardless, Shahrez would be produced before court within 24 hours.
