ISLAMABAD; A case has been registered against PTI workers for planning a protest (dharna) on August 14 at Shahzad Town police station.
According to the FIR, about 40 PTI workers held a press conference at Hostel City, expressing their intention to participate in the upcoming dharna. They were carrying banners and sticks when police arrived.
Upon seeing the police, the workers began chanting slogans and resisted the police intervention, leading to clashes. Some PTI workers managed to flee the scene.
Speaking to reporters, a member of the Insaf Students Federation (ISF) stated that earlier today, ISF held internal elections at Hostel City as part of their nationwide effort to reinvigorate student leadership.
He alleged that police raided the election venue, fired on unarmed students, and arrested more than 30 ISF members. Dozens of students were reportedly injured during the raid and faced harsh treatment while in custody.
