LAHORE: The newly appointed United States Consul General in Lahore, Stetson Sanders, met with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Thursday to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation across key sectors.
Welcoming Sanders to Pakistan, Chief Minister Maryam congratulated him on his new diplomatic role and expressed optimism for strengthened Pak-US ties under his tenure.
The meeting focused on mutual areas of interest, including trade, energy, technology, agriculture, and educational collaboration. Chief Minister Maryam highlighted the positive trajectory of bilateral trade between Pakistan and the United States, calling it an encouraging development.
Emphasizing Punjab’s priorities, she said her government is committed to promoting water-efficient farming, precision agriculture, and modern cold chain infrastructure. She extended an invitation to American agri-tech firms to explore investment opportunities in these emerging sectors.
