ISLAMABAD; The Government of Pakistan has announced September 1, 2025, as the final deadline for Afghan refugees holding Proof of Registration (PoR) cards to leave the country.
According to an official of the Interior Ministry, only 26 days remain before the deportation process begins for Afghan nationals who hold PoR cards. The decision is part of a broader initiative to address the issue of undocumented foreign residents in Pakistan.
The government has clarified that all foreign nationals residing in Pakistan illegally, including Afghan citizens with registration cards, will be required to return to their home country.
Authorities have emphasized that the deportation process will be carried out humanely, with no mistreatment to be tolerated under any circumstances.
Comprehensive arrangements have been made to ensure that food and healthcare services are available to those affected during the transition process.
Officials have urged all concerned individuals to complete their preparations and voluntarily repatriate within the stipulated timeframe to avoid any complications or legal action.
