ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): The submission process for Hajj applications has officially started today, according to Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Syed Atta ur Rehman. He stated that registered pilgrims can now submit their applications along with the first installment of Hajj dues.
A spokesperson for the ministry said that applications are being accepted at hundreds of branches of 14 designated banks across the country. Registered applicants may also submit their applications from home through the ministry’s official online portal.
The first installment will be received from registered applicants on a first-come, first-served basis from August 4 to August 9. If seats remain available, new applicants will be allowed to apply between August 11 and August 16.
The spokesperson added that as soon as all available seats are filled, the collection of Hajj dues will be stopped.
The Hajj package for the year 2026 is expected to range between Rs 1,150,000 and Rs 1,250,000, which includes the cost of animal sacrifice (Dam-e-Shukr). The second installment will be collected starting from November 1.
The ministry has also lifted restrictions on repeat Hajj pilgrims and removed the upper age limit. However, children born after March 1, 2014, will not be eligible to apply for Hajj.
