MUMBAI; Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor has reportedly demanded a legal share for her children in the massive estate left behind by her late ex-husband, billionaire businessman Sanjay Kapur.

Karisma and Sanjay Kapur were married in 2003, but their relationship soon turned turbulent. The couple share two children—daughter Samaira, born in 2005, and son Kiaan, born in 2010. After years of conflict, they separated in 2014 and finalized their divorce in 2015.
Following the divorce, in 2016, Karisma accused Sanjay Kapur of domestic violence, sexual misconduct, and inhumane behavior. In an interview, she alleged that her former husband married her out of greed for fame and wealth. She also claimed she was subjected to inappropriate demands during their honeymoon, including pressure to entertain his male friends.

Sanjay Kapur passed away in June 2025 at the age of 53 due to a heart attack. His death triggered a major dispute over his estimated ₹31,000 crore estate.
According to a report by The Free Press Journal, Sanjay Kapur’s mother revealed that just days after her son’s passing, she was pressured into signing critical documents related to company assets and property. She alleged that certain individuals posing as shareholders emotionally coerced her during her period of mourning and denied her the time to grieve properly.
Although Karisma Kapoor has not been directly named by Sanjay’s mother, Indian media reports suggest the actress has initiated legal steps to secure her children’s rightful inheritance.
While Karisma has not issued an official statement, sources close to the matter indicate that she is seriously considering legal action to ensure her children’s financial future is protected.
