ISLAMABAD; Minister for Information Technology Shaza Fatima on Wednesday announced that the government has finalized a comprehensive Artificial Intelligence (AI) policy after extensive consultations with stakeholders from public and private sectors.
Speaking at a ceremony in Islamabad, she said the AI policy reflects the government’s forward-looking vision to harness emerging technologies for national progress. Shaza Fatima emphasized that the next key step will be effective implementation and execution of the policy across relevant sectors.
Highlighting the transformative potential of AI, the minister said Pakistan must embrace innovation to remain competitive and foster socio-economic development. “We can no longer afford to lag behind in technological advancement. AI can be a powerful driver for education, healthcare, agriculture, and governance,” she added.
The AI policy comes as part of broader digital reforms aimed at preparing Pakistan for the Fourth Industrial Revolution and building a future-ready digital economy.
