Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Ataullah Tarar, stated that with the advancement of technology and changing circumstances, digital media has become extremely important. He highlighted that defending ideological frontiers in the narrative war, alongside tackling fake news and misinformation, is a significant challenge. He stressed that it’s crucial for officers of the Information Group to align with the changes occurring on the digital front.
He made these remarks while addressing the passing-out ceremony of the 41st Specialized Training Program at the Information Services Academy in Islamabad.
Information Minister Ataullah Tarar emphasized that the Information Group plays a vital role in promoting a positive image of the country and building a narrative of progress and prosperity. He added that it’s essential to move forward in accordance with the transformations in the media sector and the demands of the digital age.
Federal Minister Ataullah Tarar reiterated that projecting a positive image of Pakistan and creating a narrative of development and prosperity is a fundamental responsibility of the Information Group. He stressed that “perception is often more powerful than reality.”
He mentioned that Pakistan achieved significant success in the recent narrative war with India, where information officers played a key role. He also deemed the establishment of the Digital Communication Department as a timely and effective step.
The Federal Minister for Information congratulated the officers who completed their training, stating, “I am confident that these officers will serve the country with integrity, dedication, and professional competence.”
At the end of the ceremony, the Information Minister distributed certificates to the participants.
