Rawalpindi: In a significant development aimed at boosting military cooperation between Pakistan and Indonesia, Lieutenant General (Retd) Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Indonesia’s Minister of Defence, met with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff, at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi on Tuesday.
The high-level meeting, attended by representatives from various Indonesian military and intelligence services, focused on deepening bilateral defence collaboration and discussing regional security challenges.
According to ISPR, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding military-to-military ties and acknowledged the long-standing friendship between the two nations.
Field Marshal Munir emphasized the importance of continued cooperation to ensure peace and stability in the region. In response, the Indonesian Defence Minister lauded the Pakistan Army’s efforts in counter-terrorism operations and reiterated Indonesia’s intention to strengthen defence relations with Pakistan.
