ISLAMABAD:In a major diplomatic initiative to deepen ties in the legal and judicial spheres, Federal Minister for Law and Justice Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar undertook an official visit to Baku, Azerbaijan.
The visit underscores Pakistan’s growing focus on expanding its international partnerships beyond traditional economic and security areas, by fostering cooperation in law, governance, and institutional reforms.
During this high-profile trip, Pakistan and Azerbaijan signed a landmark Memorandum of Cooperation between their respective ministries of justice, laying the foundation for long-term collaboration in legal affairs.
The agreement reflects both countries’ shared commitment to strengthening the rule of law, modernizing judicial systems, and promoting alternative dispute resolution.
Throughout his stay, Senator Tarar engaged with Azerbaijan’s top leadership, including Prime Minister Ali Asadov, Minister of Justice Farid Ahmadov, and Chairman of the Supreme Court Inam Karimov.
These discussions highlighted the pivotal role of legal diplomacy in broadening bilateral relations and advancing mutual goals of judicial modernization and institutional excellence.
