Islamabad (Monitoring Desk): Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, in a candid interview with Indian media outlet The Wire, firmly rejected what he termed as “baseless accusations of terrorism” directed at Pakistan by Indian authorities.
During the interview, Bhutto Zardari described these allegations as not only misleading but also a deliberate attempt to deflect from the real issues plaguing the region. He emphasized Pakistan’s consistent position on the frontlines in the global fight against terrorism, highlighting its sacrifices and contributions in this regard.
The PPP Chairman reiterated Pakistan’s willingness to participate in impartial international investigations regarding terror incidents, stating that if Pakistan were involved, evidence would have surfaced. He further commented that India has often “lied” to its public about Pakistan’s alleged involvement in such incidents, including the recent Pahalgam attack, and has been unwilling to cooperate in joint probes or provide necessary evidence for convictions.
Bhutto Zardari’s remarks come amid ongoing tensions between Pakistan and India, with both nations frequently exchanging accusations regarding cross-border terrorism. His interview is the first by a Pakistani representative to Indian media since the recent military escalation between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.
