Islamabad; An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad on Thursday upheld the warrants and proclaimed offender status of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur in the Faizabad protest case, directing Islamabad Police to enforce the related Peshawar High Court (PHC) order.
The case was heard by ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Sial, who took up proceedings linked to the Faizabad protest over Imran Khan’s disqualification. Notably, CM Gandapur did not appear before the court.
During the hearing, the court also initiated the process to declare PTI leader Amir Mehmood Kiyani a proclaimed offender due to his non-appearance. Meanwhile, PTI Senator Faisal Javed submitted an acquittal plea in the same case.
The judge remarked that a decision on Faisal Javed’s plea would be announced later in the day after hearing arguments from the prosecution.
It is worth mentioning that the case involves Ali Amin Gandapur, Faisal Javed, Amir Mehmood Kiyani, and several others, and was registered at Islamabad’s I-9 police station in connection with protests that erupted following Imran Khan’s disqualification.
