PESHAWAR: The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has decided to convene an All Parties Conference (APC) to address the province’s law and order situation.
The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur on Wednesday, which reviewed security conditions in South and North Waziristan as well as the merged districts.
The meeting was attended by members of the provincial cabinet and senior government officials. It was agreed to formulate a joint strategy involving all segments of society and to establish a government-led delegation aimed at eliminating terrorism from the region.
The delegation will undertake visit of all areas and accelerate the pace of people consultation.
During the meeting the CM KPk decided to convene APC to work out a joint strategy. Invitation will be extended to parliamentary leaders of all political parties.
CM KP said all political parties should evolve joint strategy for establishment of peace from one platform.
He said emergency meeting of MNAs and MPAs from merged districts has been called.
