PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has ordered authorities to promptly identify and hold accountable those responsible for negligence in connection with the Swat tragedy, stressing the need for an expedited investigation into the matter.
During hearing of case related to Swat tragedy, Chief Justice (CJ) PHC questioned have the investigation into Swat tragedy been completed.
Advocate General told the court investigations are being conducted by chairman provincial inspection team.
CJ PHC ordered call the chairman provincial inspection team and then we hear the case.
During the hearing of the case, chairman inspection team said he has visited Swat. Investigations are underway. Negligence of different departments have come to open.
CH PHC said those who have shown negligence be determined soon. What steps have been taken for safety of tourists in Hazara.
Commissioner Hazara said section 144 is imposed. Operation is continuing against encroachments.
CJ PHC said that safe environment and security be provided to tourists. What are the arrangements in case of medical emergency.
Commissioner Hazara said additional staff has been appointed in Nathiagalli hospital.
Justice Fahim Wali said what are the arrangements in connection with emegency responde after Swat incident.
RPO Hazara said Police and Rescue are in cooperation with each other.
The court questioned if immediate response through drone is possible in case any thing happens.
Commissioner Hazara told the court drone have been acquired which can take jackets therein.
CJ PHC said ” test the drones. See it they can reach within what time in emergency. Commissioner Malakand and RPO should file report in the court. Investigation report in respect of Swat incident be also presented.
Counsel for the petitioner informed the court both of the helicopters of KP were available in the province on the day of occurrence of Swat Tragedy. According to Aviation report flight was possible on that day but helicopter was not used.
The court while taking notice of it sought detailed report regarding availability of helicopter, delay in use, safety of tourists and other matters. Hearing of the case was adjourned.
