PESHAWAR: Peshawar High Court (PHC) while withdrawing stay order in the case pertaining to distribution of reserved seats in KP assembly has sent petition filed by National Awami Party (NAP) to Election Commission (EC).
The court has directed EC to hear the petition.
On the other hand the petition filed by PTI Parliamentarian (PTI-P) of the same nature has been withdrawn. Because this matter is pending hearing in Islamabad High Court (IHC).
The petition was heard by Justice Arshid Ali and Justice Dr Khurshid Iqbal of PHC .
The court remarked petition filed by ANP regarding reserved seats be heard by Election Commission.
Counsel for PTI-P took the plea he wants to withdraw his petition being the case pending hearing in IHC.
The court wrapped up the case due to withdrawal of petition by PTI-P.
Opposition parties in KP assembly have reservations with regard to distribution of reserved seats.
ANP and PTI-P both claimed that they have been given less representation in reserved seats.
