ISLAMABAD – Family members of missing persons staged a protest demonstration outside the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday, calling on the state to recover and produce their loved ones before the courts.
Led by prominent lawyers Eman Mazari Advocate and Hadi Chatha, along with human rights activist Amna Masood Janjua, the protesters held a sit-in at the main entrance of the IHC. Carrying placards and banners inscribed with slogans such as “Insaf Do, Lapata Afrad Ko Bazyab Karo” (Give justice, recover the missing persons), the demonstrators raised intense slogans demanding justice.
The protesters expressed their anguish over the prolonged absence of their family members, urging the state to fulfill its constitutional obligation by presenting the missing persons before the judiciary.
In response to the demonstration, security was tightened around the IHC premises, with additional police personnel deployed to prevent any untoward incident.
