
Yianjin/ China: Chinese Premier Li Qiang today urged the international community to adopt “constructive actions” in economic and trade cooperation to overcome global challenges and foster shared development and prosperity. Li made these remarks at the opening plenary of the 16th Annual Meeting of the New Champions of the World Economic Forum, also known as the 2025 Summer Davos Forum, held in Tianjin, China.
Addressing an audience of over 1,700 leading figures from more than 90 countries and regions, Premier Li emphasized the critical need for resolving disputes and differences through equal consultations. He stressed that while disagreements are normal in international economic relations, solutions can always be found through dialogue and mutual respect.
Furthermore, Li underscored the importance of safeguarding common interests through mutually beneficial cooperation. He highlighted the deeply integrated nature of the global economy, where the success of one nation is intertwined with the success of others. To this end, he called for enhanced macro policy coordination among countries to ensure stable and unimpeded global industrial and supply chains, thereby boosting the security and resilience of national development.
The 2025 Summer Davos Forum, themed “Entrepreneurship for a New Era,” is focusing on how entrepreneurship and emerging technologies can unlock more dynamic and resilient economies amidst a rapidly evolving global landscape. Premier Li’s address set a tone of cooperation and shared responsibility for navigating the current economic headwinds.
