
Riyadh/Tehran: In a significant diplomatic development, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian held a telephonic conversation on Tuesday, welcoming the ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel. The truce, brokered by US President Donald Trump, aims to halt the 12-day conflict that has impacted the region.
During the call, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman expressed the Kingdom’s profound hope that the ceasefire would contribute to restoring security and stability in the Middle East and effectively prevent the risk of further confrontation. He underscored Saudi Arabia’s consistent position in supporting diplomatic dialogue as the preferred and most effective path for the resolution of disputes.
In a separate but related development, the Saudi Crown Prince also received a phone call from Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani. Both leaders likewise welcomed the entry into force of the ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel, stressing the imperative need to exert all necessary efforts to preserve regional security and stability.
