
ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired the second interministerial preparatory meeting for the 12th session of the Pakistan-UAE Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC), which is scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi next week.
The meeting was attended by the Special Assistant to the Deputy Prime Minister, along with senior officials from key ministries including Foreign Affairs, Economic Affairs, Interior, Culture, Railways, Commerce, Information Technology, Privatisation, Food Security, Energy, Climate Change, Aviation, Education, Science and Technology, Health, Inter-Provincial Coordination, Power, and Petroleum. Officials from the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) and the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) also participated.
The session reviewed the current status of bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates across various sectors. Discussions also focused on identifying new avenues to boost investment and strengthen economic ties.
Senator Dar underscored the significance of enhancing and expanding the economic and trade relationship between the two countries, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation with the UAE.
