ABU DHABI (MNN); Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, during a meeting with the Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Adviser Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, emphasized that the security and stability of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are “an integral part of Pakistan’s own security,” according to the military’s media wing.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that the leaders discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in various sectors, with a focus on economic collaboration, investment, and security. They also exchanged views on regional developments and highlighted the importance of continued coordination to promote peace and stability in the region.
Field Marshal Munir expressed his “sincere appreciation and gratitude” to the UAE government for its longstanding investments and continued support for Pakistan’s economy and security. He noted that such support reflects the deep-rooted historical relations between the two countries and commended the constructive role of UAE leadership in promoting Pakistan’s economic and social development.
During the meeting, Field Marshal Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s firm commitment to continuing joint efforts to further strengthen the bilateral partnership in a way that benefits both nations and contributes to peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.
Pakistan and the UAE maintain close diplomatic and economic relations. Last week, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone call with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, praising the Gulf country’s “consistent and unwavering support to Pakistan.”
Last month, Field Marshal Munir also met UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at Qasr Al Shati Palace, where both leaders reviewed bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
